Update: Thanks to all who commented, I got some school assignments to sort out this weekend so hopefully the new site will be up by the end of next week. Will definitely keep y’all posted! Your comments have all been so incredibly sweet! Thanks again, its really very encouraging!
I apologise for the short disappearance. School has been crazy, my life has been crazy, and things have ended with my boyfriend (ex) in the UK. I’ve been trying to cope.
But anyway, i figured it is time for a brand new start. I am going to shut this blog down and start a new one (probably with Dille). If you would still like to read my blog please leave a comment with your email and you will receive an email from me very soon with the new blog address and everything. I will automatically email every single person who has ever commented on here so if you have commented before, you don’t have to leave a comment.
Regular posts will be back on again soon!
Take Care Y’all,

It started off as a day with nothing to do, so I decided to visit a charity shop that I used to frequent to try my luck. I went with no intention of buying anything but came out with 3 items which all only cost me $8 because they were having a half off everything day (how lucky!). Despite an upsetting encounter with a semi-dead cockroach which was hanging off a skirt that I was about to check out, it was a pretty successful trip. The eastern european chick that was running the shop kept bringing me stuff that she thought I would like, and I was rather offended when she brought me a pair of nasty looking cowboy boots and said that they looked like the boots I was wearing! Lol. (of course i am just being dramatic here)

I finally got the length of my silver coated jeans altered, although you can’t see it since its been tucked into my boots. I kept it quite simple since these jeans are pretty “loud” and people were staring at my legs all day. And no, that isn’t camel toe, its just the nature of the jeans to fold this way.

Then, I also tried on harem trousers for the first time ever, and a gorgeous lace dress a la Prada Fall/Winter 08 at Zara. The harem trousers were ridiculously comfortable and the lace dress was just a complete Prada rip-off and well-fitted!

Trying on Harem Trousers in Zara - I know I can only wear them with heels coz they make me look short, but gah, so comfortable and I just love the boxy shape!

Feeling all Prada Fall/Winter 2008 with this Zara knock-off.

My “I don’t want to leave swansea” face.

I am going to miss this place so very much. Ah, Swansea, my second home. Who knew a city girl like me could grow to love nature? Something tells me I am not done with the UK yet especially the fact that I am leaving way too much stuff in this place. I blame Singapore Airlines as its economy ticket only allows me a measly 20kgs limit on checked baggage, and 7kgs on cabin luggage, and I am not even done with packing yet and am already 5kgs over the weight limit. Bugger!

Update: While browsing on Topshop.com about half hour ago, I noticed that they had a couple of Size 8s in stock again, so I ordered another one! I’ll just send back the one that fits less well, hopefully when it arrives tomorrow as I paid for “next day delivery” seeing that I am leaving the UK next Wednesday. Wish me luck! Thanks to everyone who commented!

The ethereal blue lace dress arrived today! While I managed to squeeze into a size 6, reluctantly, I also realised that my lack of boob-age also meant that if I had ordered this in a size 8, it would look even more obvious that I have nothing there to hold the dress up. But then with a Size 8, I would probably have some space to wear a bra underneath! Now I’m out of £55, money I don’t really have but stuck with a pretty dress that is slightly too tight for me and makes me look completely flat chested. Despite that, I really do love it though but somehow feel “not good enough” for it. I’m not really fishing for compliments here but it would be nice if you could tell me if the dress looks fine on me or not! I plan on wearing a thin t-shirt underneath for a casual look too.

Nevertheless, I plan to try to lose a few pounds to see if the dress fits better then because at the moment, as i’m blogging while having it on, its a tiny bit hard to breathe! Although I am pretty sure that its nothing compared to what medieval women had to go through!
I love it paired with doc martens to counter-act the super girliness of it, but this dress seems pretty versatile so far. I’ve tried it on with a few jackets and I’m very pleased with it. I just wish I was a tiny bit slimmer.

The above colour chart by MoMA was most recently featured in Adam Lippes’ latest blog entry about a month ago and it gave me an inkling to his offerings for Spring/Summer 2009. I certainly wasn’t disappointed when I finally saw the pictures of his show today and I’d just had to share with you my favourites in this collection.

Bold bursts of orange, blue and pinks formed most of the second half of his collection. Adam delivers what he does best, easy to wear sportswear and I think he just created the best romper/jumpsuit/playsuit that i have seen ever. The silk blue playsuit (middle) is just the ideal playsuit that I have been looking for. The cut is so forgiving, I love that it cinches you in at the waist and it drapes on top so lightly, so “almost there”. The extra long orange floaty coat is definitely something I would consider too, talk about beach glamour!!

Perhaps the most memorable piece in the entire collection is the colourful smarties candy looking dress (far right). It reminds me of carnivals and candy floss and makes me feel like a 6 year old again, innocent, carefree and sweet. I bet it looks even better close-up and in real life, just wish I could see it now. It is definitely inspiring me to get lots of colourful plastic buttons and sew it on a drapey top, just like the one Ikeliene Stange is sporting on the show (left).

I also spy grecian bits in the first half of the collection. The sheer and light striped one shouldered dress in the middle is my idea of a great summer holiday dress and actually looks like a fun piece to layer. I’m thinking of cinching it with a leather belt, with a tuxedo jacket for evening.
Overall, I have to say I am loving this collection, it was definitely refreshing to see all this after being slightly disappointed with the fall/winter 2008 collection. Go Adam Lippes!!!

I had planned to go out to take some pictures with a friend today but ended up doing something else altogether. The weather just wasn’t up for it and I’ve been pensive all day anyway. Debuted these boots and they are surprisingly manageable to walk in even though I still had to be extra careful when i’m walking downhill. I’m going to wear a coat whenever I go out from now on seeing that I am not bringing most of them back to Singapore with me as they are heavy and not singapore-weather friendly.

Some random old guy stopped me as I was walking on the street to compliment my entire outfit. I can’t say it made my day but it was definitely weird, in a refreshing sense. Lol. Something tells me I am going to wear these boots a lot from now on! They only make me want to get a few more pairs of ankle boots!

I recently purchased this delightful black number but in a size larger than I would normally take since they were out in my size. Having worn it last night for a few hours with slight alterations to the strap lengths, it looks like I’ll have to take them to the tailors after all since they do tend to bag around the chest area which makes me feel a tad uncomfortable. I’ve also been looking for more of these exposed zipper dresses and at the moment, I am rather taken with these two by Renewal @ Urban Outfitters.

These pieces by Renewal are all limited edition and made from vintage, deadstock and surplus materials sourced from rag mills internationally. I really cannot decide which one to spend £55 on.
Zips aren’t just only edgy with dresses, of course they look great with shoes too, namely boots. Zip-front ankle boots, you are on my mind too. This pair by Botkier ($625 @ Shopbop.com) is just simply good enough.

They are a great alternative to those fantastic ones we saw on Alexander Wang’s runway show for Fall.

And is it so wrong for me to yearn for one of these sheepskin gilets from Topshop which looks like a great offsetting piece for exposed zips? Its not usually my style but I can imagine how great it would look with the edginess of the exposed zipper.

Zip-up or ship out!
*P.s. I apologise for my disappearance for the past few days, there’s just been way too much going on in my head lately and I just had to take a break*

Had a lot on my mind this week so I wasn’t feeling too experimental with clothes. I’ve started to take long walks by myself this week, trying to soak up every little bit of the area i live in because I know i am going to really miss it. I’m probably going to do the same for the rest of my days here since I need to get used to walking a lot anyway. If you live in Singapore, you’ll know what I mean. It is quite common for me and my friends to walk all the way from City Hall to Orchard Road (15 minutes by our tube, about 1/2 an hour on foot) all the time. In fact, I used to have to walk at least 30 minutes a day (to and back home from) to my nearest tube station. It is how I stay fit, lol.
I also went to someone’s gig last night but i didn’t take any pictures. It really sucks because i hardly ever go out at night, lol. I got a few compliments on my dress from random girls while waiting to pee in the bathroom though so that was cool.
Anyway, these are today’s pictures. Apparently, I am about to be executed. I hated my face in the second picture so i had to cover it.
