Balenciaga Autumn/Winter 2007-8
July 30, 2007 by curellasays
Elle magazine calls it “boho-tec”, Vogue calls it “global mix”. Whatever you call it, I have been fascinated by Balenciaga’s Autumn/Winter 2007-8 collection, just as much as I have been crazy over the Spring/Summer 2007 futuristic collection, the gold plated leggings and the space suit looking jackets and dresses. More suitably, I should say I am now a huge fan of the designer for Balenciaga, Nicolas Ghesquiere. Vogue.com says he looks set to become one of the most influential designers of the new century so I guess all of us just better watch out!
I am desperately in love with the pink and navy vertical striped jacket on the picture above and probably because I have recently developed a love for vertical striped jackets. I don’t know how I did and why but I just think they look damn tre cool and of course they will elongate my short body.
I love the dress below that Irina Lazareanu is wearing. Usually, I don’t really like the whole bohemian trend much but I do like it when its done well like this Balenciaga’s collection with a bit of sequins or sparkly detail or romantic chiffon thrown on, you can easily convert me to love boho-tec. I cannot wait to see what Mr Nicolas Ghesquiere has in store for us next Spring & Summer.

the striped jacket is totally awesome! :O
I agree about this collection. I love the blazer, scarves & the dress in the bottom right corner, which Clemence Poesy wore recently.
Great blog - i’ve linked you.

I’m loving the striped jacket too.
I love the pink striped jacket. Does any of you know how much it costs??
