Curella’s Faves From Spring/Summer 2008 (pt.1)
September 17, 2007 by curellasays
Its only the beginning of Autumn (or is it still towards the end of Summer only?) and here I am basking in the idea of next Spring/Summer in all these clothes from my favourite selections off the Spring/Summer 2008 in New York. I’ve picked stuff that I would actually wear in real life and loved. I admit that I am quite disappointed in Marc Jacobs this time and I just didn’t like his collection at all. Some of the choices in my favourites suprise me a little as well.
Adam Lippes (the guy who designs for “Adam + Eve”)

Wearable clothes which are a little japanese inspired were shown throughout his whole collection for Spring/Summer 2008, Adam Lippes (or simply just “ADAM” now) has come a long way since Adam + Eve which started off making good quality basics. I saw how the brand evolve, which is why I am always amazed at the new things he has come up with. You can see that as each season comes, his designs have improved and he has started to explore different inspirations, while still looking contemporary and slightly sportswear-like. I am in love with the silver dress and I am wondering what fabric was used as it looks almost like leather but with hi-technology today, it could be something new I’ve never heard of.
Anna Sui

This whole collection reminds me of Japanese cartoons. This is what I imagine our future cartoon characters would wear yet at the same time it is so wearable in real life. Anna Sui does no wrong once again with her off-beat designs mixed with a bit of punky attitude. It looks like metallics will still be hot next Spring/Summer. Yahooooooooo!
Doo.Ri

I personally love a good clean-cut, feminine and slinky dress or top anytime. It immediately transform you and make you feel so much confident without the use of this season’s patent leather. I have yet to see a celebrity walk down the red carpet in a Doo.Ri piece and I really think that its time they should. They are just simply stunning and beautiful, and boy do i love the use of transparent fabric on silk. Luxurious heaven!
Adam Lippes’s dress in the second image is very cool
I love Anna Sui’s collection
i love the shape of the coat from doo.ri
