Christmas Makes Me Wanna…

SHOP! SHOP! SHOP!

This holiday season may be all about giving but the only kind of giving that I know is to give money to the high street and online shops. After my filling christmas dinner (i call it lunch but in the UK, you guys call it “dinner” lol) made by my boyfriend, I had to check out the sales as the best sales happen just before & during christmas.

Actually, this sale frenzy hit me yesterday when i had to go into town to run a little errand. It ended up with me shopping in Topshop & TK Maxx. At Topshop, i trawled racks and racks of amazing sale items, picking up everything that i wanted, but alas decided i wouldn’t spend more than £40 as I no longer have a job.

I came out with a Kate Moss for TopShop “silver” cashmere jumper & a pair of silver tights. I tried to not buy anything Kate Moss but how could i say no to something i need, like jumpers which was in cashmere and best of all, in silver! It was reduced from £65 to a reasonable £30. I was super chuffed that I got to buy it even if the only one left was in a Size 10 and I’m usually a 8, and its button hook was broken as well.

It is more silvery and sparkly in real life and i know i am going to wear this a lot. I can’t live without jumpers in this weather and all i have are black jumpers!

The silver tights i have will look amazing with my black dresses & skirts and who knows what else in future!

And my jeans obsession knows no boundries. Ever since i bought my first pair of Siwy jeans, I knew that I wanted them in as many washes and colours as possible. I am still looking for the Siwy hannah jeans in grey at a reasonable price but only Asos.com stocks that now at a disgusting price tag of £160, which is almost twice as much as how much it cost in american online stores! As for the pair i bought today, I never used to like light blue denim washes but this pair by Siwy totally changed my mind with the cool rips at the knee. I got em at a bargain on Ebay in a Size 25 which is 1 size smaller than what i usually wear, so good luck to me, if not i’ll need to lose some weight!

I have to thank Kate Moss & Rachel Bilson for introducing Siwy jeans to me. The Siwy hannah jeans are a dream come true for petite chicks like me. The designer of Siwy jeans is a sweety as well. I emailed her a few weeks back asking if she would ever do jackets and waistcoats and she replied promptly, telling me that it would be included in the Fall 08 collection! I love most of the Siwy jean styles and washes and I am particularly interested in these grey Siwy Anita style ones - And i don’t even like flared jeans. I can’t even find them anywhere online.

Last but not least, after spending a full hour scouring through ASOS.com, i emerged with only 1 dress on sale, which is 1 size too big for me once again, but too cheap to pass up. I wanted to buy this dress ages ago but just didn’t like it enough to justify a purchase. Also, it looks like a difficult dress to wear without me over accessorising and layering it. Bad habit i know!

Oh god, i seriously hope it fits though. I’d hate to return it! Does it look cheap & nasty to you? Some of ASOS.com’s clothes look cheap & nasty, but this one looks nice from far but makes me skeptical when i view the closeup shot. I guess that is why i chose to buy it in black. I heard some tip years ago from somewhere that if you have to buy something made of cheap material, get it in black or in the darkest colour so the flaw isn’t so obvious as it would on a lighter colour.
