Denim Jacket Revival.

I want to wear my denim jacket like I used to back when I was still in school in 2002. These days, I only see women above a certain age sport em, and usually tackily, with jeans. Jennifer Aniston used to wear hers on F.r.i.e.n.ds with her little black dresses, and besides that, I have never seen anyone else wear a denim jacket with real style.

I have been playing around on Polyvore for about an hour this afternoon, trying to discover new ways to wear the denim jacket. The results are just some whimsical, off beat outfits but still not as “different” as I want them to be. I’d like to challenge you (anyone!) to come up with some new ways to wear the denim jacket please!

My personal favourite is the leopard print dress with the cute neon pink doc martens boots. It makes me really want to buy that dress (which is by Joie btw). The last one, is quite “Carrie Bradshaw” inspired don’t you think?

I adore the yellow/white dress, it’s so cute!! I would look great with the denim jacket, but I would wear peeptoe pumps instead of the doc martens. that’s just my opinion ofcourse!!

A great challenge - I’d love to see denim jackets come back… they have their moments.

Love the new design–very downtown!

The thing about the denim jacket is that you don’t necessarily need to do anything with it. Just throw it on over anything and avoid the Canadian tuxedo.

I definitely wore mine with Doc Martens when I was booking bands at the end of the eighties, and various cult-designer odds and ends. This look didn’t work in Hollywood, where everyone was running around in corsets with stockings–and no bottoms. That’s what I get for booking glam metal.

i gotta get myself the red doc martens..the muted colour makes it so easy to match!
