Britney Buzz.

Curella blogging about Britney Spears? What a major contradiction hey! This is definitely going against my rules of not posting about overrated celebrities but for this I’ll have to make an exception as we’re talking about her new fragrance “Believe“.

Thanks to Princess Selina of Flying Saucer, I got to know about Buzz Paradise, who sent me a beautiful promotional package so that I can share the knowledge to you all right here. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that I got a nice full bottle, not some shoddy sample size and it even came with the body souffle (mmmm… love!) and the cd.

While I have never been a Britney Spears fan ever, I have a secret confession to make - I actually own a fragrance by her called “Curious” which as you can see, is sitting next to the promotional package that Buzz Paradise have so kindly sent me. (see below) Another thing you didn’t also know was that I was once part of a sales campaign team in a departmental store called “CK Tang” in Singapore promoting and selling Britney Spears “Curious” - just one of the millions of jobs that I had before.

Perfume is something that I know I can do without but for some strange reason,  I found Britney’s Curious appealing so I have actually been using it in secret. I love the smell of flowers and Curious has a super sweet floral smell, mostly of the Louisana Magnolia flower (from Britney’s hometown) and vanilla infused musk. The boyfriend, however, is not as agreeable to my love for Curious and warns me not to spray more than once on myself or I’ll end up smelling like an old woman. Meanie!

Suprisingly, the boyfriend really adored “Believe” and told me to chuck my “Curious” out even though there’s still 90% left in my current bottle. I suppose I do agree that “Believe” is better than “Curious” and “Fantasy”, the latter being sickeningly sweet to the core of making me want to throw up.

The top notes of “Believe“ is a mixture of guava and tangerine which contributes to most of the sweetness of the fragrance. The middle notes of linden blossom and honeysuckle adds the perfect amount of floral to the scent, balancing out the sweetness of the top notes a little. With patchouli as one the base notes, it really lends itself to a warm and sensual feel, just like how the campaign described it on www.ibelieveinbritney.com I am so impressed with this fragrance that I cannot believe that I actually got it for free!

I believe that this fragrance will be suitable for anyone in their late teens to their mid-forties, as its seems to be a great timeless fruity & floral scent. I think I will re-purchase since my boyfriend really likes it! In fact, my boyfriend just said that he would wear it, and with his “manly sweat” mixed into it, it could be a men’s perfume for him. He then sprayed some in front of him and walked into it. (I am not lying about this!! Believe me!!) He also said that if some annoying sales person asked him to test this perfume, he would gladly rub it all over himself instead of avoiding him/her. And I believe him.

You know for once, I actually will be proud to announce that I am wearing a Britney Spears fragrance, because this one just kicks the rest of the other celebrity fragrances right out of the ball park. And I believe that I won’t be the only one to say this.

P.s. My boyfriend is listening to the Britney Blackout cd in the next room now. (wtf??!!!) And he reaaaaaalllly loves “piece of me”. Seriously! You gotta believe me!!
